A Legacy of Collaboration and Innovation
Dissatisfied with traditional methods, pioneers like Ed Goss of Brown & Sharpe, Arthur C. Harper of Wyomissing Polytechnic Institute, and Leonard J. Fletcher of Caterpillar Tractor Company envisioned informal gatherings to exchange ideas and solve training challenges. Initially free of formal structures, speeches, or dues, AART focused on practical knowledge sharing and innovation.
Today, as a 501(c)(6) organization incorporated in Maine, AART continues its mission to advance training excellence. Through annual meetings, site visits, and expert insights, members collaborate to share best practices, address workforce challenges, and drive advancements in apprenticeship and technical training.
